Groveland — Joan F. Joyal, 81, of Groveland, Mass., died on April 17, 2014, at her home. She was born in Providence, R.I., on March 8, 1933, to the late Murdoc N. Godfrey and Florence (Walsh) Godfrey.
Joan worked for 15 years with the Haverhill Home Health Visiting Nurse Association and also worked for many years on the polls for voting with the Town of Groveland. She loved to travel in the States as well as Europe, and also enjoyed crocheting. Joan was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick’s Church in Groveland for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas # 864. Joan also was a Past Grand Regent and Past District Deputy for Catholic Daughters.
Her survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Francis G. Joyal of Groveland; sons, Thomas Joyal and his wife, Lowee, of Hendersonville, N.C., John Joyal and his wife, Laz, of Nashua, N.H., and Paul Joyal and his wife, Masoumeh, of South Portland, Maine.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, April 23, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Merton E. Roberts Jr. and Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant St., Georgetown, Mass. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 24, at 11 a.m., in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Groveland. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
