Springhill, FL — Violet F. Gaudet (Cookie), 70, of Springhill, Fla., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on April 17, 2014. Born in Lynn, Mass., she was raised and educated in North Andover, Mass. Cookie moved to Florida in 2000. She graduated from North Andover High, and earned her associate degree in mental health technology at Northern Essex Community College, then went on to Merrimack College. Cookie loved camping, traveling, family, her pets, and especially working in her yard, planting flowers. She had a big heart and did many acts of kindness. Cookie worked many years with mentally challenged adults in group home settings that provided training in daily and functional living skills, along with recreational programming
She was the daughter of the late Arthur J.D. Hodgdon and Violet (Kimball);and sister of the late Daniel and Eugene Hodgdon. Cookie leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Joseph R. Gaudet; her daughter, Christina Cristaldi and her partner, Vito Paterno of Methuen; son, James R. Gaudet and his wife, Sharlene, of Mexico, N.Y.; her granddaughters, Crystal (Cristaldi) Cogliano and her husband, Christopher, of Methuen; Jessica Ruiz and her husband, David, of Bisbee, Ariz., Jessica Gilbert and her husband, Zachary, of Fulton, N.Y., Alesia Sheldon and her husband, Kevin, of Oswego, N.Y., and Samantha Gaudet of Mexico, N.Y.; her grandsons, Antonio Cristaldi and his wife, Claudia, of Brighton, Mass., and Christopher Gaudet and his wife, Katlynn, of Mexico, N.Y.; great-grandsons, Adam Mohs, Amette Mustapha, Ethan and Owen Gilbert, and Eli Sheldon. She also leaves her sisters, Dorothy Climo and her husband, Jack, of Brooksville, Fla., and Judith Zielinski and her husband, Richard, of Wesley, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, April 25, at 10 a.m., in the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover. Calling hours will be on Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
