Salem, NH — Edna R. (Desrochers) Dow, born Feb. 13, 1921, of Salem, N.H., went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2014. She was the widow of Richard S. Dow.
Edna was a member of Pleasant Street United Methodist Church in Salem for over 60 years, active with the Food Pantry and various groups within the church. A retiree of Western Electric/Lucent of North Andover, Edna worked in the plant for over 25 years.
Until the age of 89, Edna was quite active, enjoying bowling, volunteering at the Salem Senior Center, and driving other elderly to doctor appointments. Her interests were birds, and her passions were traveling, eating out and shopping.
Family members include three daughters, Sue-Ellen (Carr) Higgins, wife of Dale of Windham, N.H., Priscilla “Bunny” (Carr) Parolise, wife of Joseph of Derry, N.H., and Marlyne (Fish) Wilde, wife of Raymond of Drummonds, Tenn. She was predeceased by daughter, Gayle (Preston) Beach of Salem, N.H.
Edna passed, leaving behind 14 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren, whom she loved visiting with. She leaves one sibling, her sister, 96 years of age, Alice Desrochers Guilmet of Methuen. Predeceased by her brothers, Leo and Ernie Desrochers and sister, Rita Desrochers Marcoux. Edna leaves her special friends, Cleo Robinson and Gladys Chorley of Salem, plus her lifelong childhood friend, Lulu Shaw from Lawrence, Mass. and Hampton, N.H.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, N.H.
