Green Valley, AZ. — Robert Eccles, 83, a 40-year resident of Groveland and more recently of Green Valley, Ariz., died Jan. 17, in Green Valley.
He was born in Boston, Dec. 15, 1930, son the late Frank and Kathleen (Vosper) Eccles.
Robert was educated in Somerville and Stoneham schools and graduated from Stoneham High School.
Mr. Eccles enjoyed traveling along the coastline to Maine and admiring lighthouses along the way. He was very skilled at restoring classic automobiles and at any work that required the use of his hands. Robert also enjoyed driving cross country, bike riding, and above all else, he loved his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Geraldine (Mendes) Eccles; and a brother, Frank Eccles.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Karen Bell of Haverhill; two sons, Douglas Eccles of Raymond, N.H., and Gary and his wife, Cynthia Eccles of Apex, N.C.; a sister, Alice Blackwell; five grandchildren, Kathleen Bell, Matthew Eccles, Leah Davis and her husband, Harley, Angela and Gennifer Eccles; a great-granddaughter, Haydyn, and several nieces and nephews.
