Solebury, PA — Paul Louis Monette, 89, of Doylestown, Pa., died Thursday, December 20, 2012, after a brief illness. Paul was born in Methuen on June 17, 1923, to Joseph and Ubaldine (LANDRY) Monette and was a 1941 graduate of Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen, where he met his beloved wife of 48 years, Jacqueline (Morin) Monette.
In WWII, Paul was commissioned as a second Lieutenant in the Army Air Forces where he saw action as a navigator in the Pacific Theater. After returning form the war, Paul and Jackie became longtime Stratford Road, Andover residents where they raised their two sons. Paul worked for Cross Coal Company in Lawrence for the next forty years, retiring as Operations Manager in 1988.
Paul was a devoted golfer and forty-fives player, who loved his red sox and picnics on the beach.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul Landry Monette, his brother Joseph Monette, his two sisters, Lucille Bernanrdin, Claire Sayer and his cherished companion Edna S. Wallack.
He is survived by his son Robert L. Monette and daughter in law, Brenda J. Monette of New Hope, PA. He is also survived by his sister in law, Claire G. Morin of Andover and many nieces and nephews
ARRANGEMENTS: Services and interment will be held privately at Christ Church, Andover.
