Lawrence, MA — Ann (Drelick) Abbott, 86, of Lawrence, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover.
The daughter of the late Blazej and Catherine (Bala) Drelick, Ann was born in Haverhill, MA on January 18, 1926. Ann was educated in Haverhill schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School. She moved to Lawrence after her marriage. For many years, she was employed as a secretary at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, from where she retired. She was a devout member of the former Holy Trinity Church of Lawrence, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Julian Stopyra Post, Polish-American Veterans of Lawrence. She was devoted to taking care of her family.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Academy Manor Nursing Home for the great care extended to Ann during her stay at the nursing home.
Ann was the wife of the Late Frank A. Abbott and the mother of the Late Frances A. (Abbott) Bernal, who died March 3, 2012. Ann is survived by a daughter, Regina Abbott of Virginia Beach, VA; a cousin, Agnes Sonday of Lawrence; a grandson, Jason Bernal of Lawrence; a grandaughter, Ann Kathy Bernal of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Ann Drelick of Plaistow, NH; a niece; and a nephew.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 11, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Rosary Church-Corpus Christi Parish, Essex St., Lawrence. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Haverhill.
