Formerly of Pelham,

Bernice H. (Peck) Berthel, 84, formerly a longtime resident of Pelham, died Tuesday morning at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Center in Lawrence.

She was the wife of the late Albin L. Berthel who died May 7, 1997.

Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, June 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Howard and the late Alice (Lovering) Peck.

Although she worked part time, Bernice was a stay at home mom who enjoyed being with her children and staying active.

She loved animals and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Bernice was also artistic by nature and enjoyed writing creatively as well as to her family.

Bernice is survived by four sons Jory A. Berthel and his wife Catherine of Hampstead, NH, Darren R. Berthel, Marlon B. Berthel both of Pelham, NH and Glen C. Berthel of Concord, NH; four granddaughters Marissa Noel and her husband Armand of Pelham, NH, Amanda Berthel of Lowell, Lauren Berthel of Tewksbury and Kara Berthel of Salem, NH; two grandsons Brandon Berthel and Glen Berthel; and several great grandchildren; a sister Doris Florence and her husband of North Reading; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the grandmother of the late Jack Berthel and the late Darren Berthel, Jr. and sister of the late Mavis Perkins, the late Ray Peck, the late John Peck and the late Bernard Peck.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service to be celebrated Friday morning at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM, NH at 11:30 A.M.
