John R. Leclerc, 77

Methuen — John R. Leclerc of Methuen, MA, 77 years old, died peacefully due to kidney failure on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Lowell, MA, on December 23, 1935, son of the late Joseph and Mary.

He attended Lowell High School. He was a veteran that served 2 years in the United States Army, stationed in Hawaii.

He was a parishioner and CCD teacher for 14 years at St. Lucy's Parish.

He retired as an electrical research engineer from Textron in Everett, MA, in 2000. After retirement, he was a driver for Laidlaw Bus Company.

John will be remembered as being a very hardworking, honest, patient, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing, and going to the beach.

John leaves his devoted wife of 50 years, Connie (Demarco); his son, David; daughter, Sharon Suzor and her husband, Denis; and daughter, Michelle McCraw and her husband, Mark. He also leaves five grandchildren; Shawn, Kyle, Deanna, Joseph, and Adam, all of Methuen.

He also leaves his brother, Paul Leclerc and his wife, Laurie, of Methuen; sister, Estelle Denver, and her husband, Frank of Lowell; and his sister, Pauline Brousseau of California.

He is predeceased by his brothers Leo and Norman; brother-in-law Peter Brousseau; sister-in-law Mary Pelletier and her late husband, Paul; sister-in-law Josie Piazza and her husband, Tony; his infant granddaughter, Denise Suzor; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill, MA, for their kind and compassionate care.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St. Methuen. By the request of the family there will be no visiting hours. Arrangements are by the Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen.
