Lawrence — Ida (Vitale) Mambro 85 of Lawrence passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and family after a long illness on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen. She was born in Rocca D’Evandro (Caserta) Italy and was the daughter of the late Davide and Regina (Di fruscia) Vitale.
Mrs. Mambro was raised and educated in Italy and came to Lawrence in 1969. She worked as an inspector for Lawrence Maid Shoe and New Balance. She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence and a member of St. Rita’s Sodality.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook many special dinners for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and will never be forgotten.
The Mambro family would like to thank the staff at Lawrence General and Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center for their kind and loving care.
Mrs. Mambro was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfredo Mambro; her brother, Antonio Vitale and three other siblings who were killed in Italy during W.W II, Maria, Umberto and Raffaele.
She is survived by her children, Maria Mambro Rodriguez of Methuen, Alfonso Mambro and his wife Leonora Zappala-Mambro of Lawrence, Regina Mambro Parisi and her husband Salvatore of Methuen, Lucy Mambro Iacovella and her husband Gino of Methuen and Maurice Mambro and his wife Josephine of Methuen; her brother, Joseph Vitale of Lawrence; her sister, Lucy Autiello and her husband Gene of Lawrence; her grandchildren, Lisa Auger and her husband Mathew, Sr., Rosario Parisi and his wife Cathy, Giancarlo Rodriguez, Ida Daley and her husband Colin, Mary Gina Parisi, Christina Parisi, Victoria, Nicholas and Christopher Iacovella and David Mambro and her great-grandchildren, Mathew, Jr., Dante and Ryan Auger and Sydney Parisi. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins here and in Italy.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St. Lawrence. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s – Immaculate Conception Mausoleum, Lawrence.
