Madeline Kinnear


North Andover — Madeline (Welch) Kinnear, 95, of North Andover died Tuesday, at Prescott House in North Andover. Madeline was born in Portland, Maine on November 25, 1917 to the late John and Elinor (Redmond) Welch.

She was raised and educated in Portland before moving to Derry N.H. She graduated Pinkerton Academy and Gates Business College in Augusta, Maine. Madeline was employed at Converse/Tyer Rubber until her retirement.

She was a member of Free Christian Church in Andover and acted as a choir mother for several years. She also was a cub scout leader and, in later years, volunteered at the Andover Senior Citizen’s Center. She enjoyed traveling, especially when visiting family in Arizona and Wyoming. For many years she and husband enjoyed wintering in Florida. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with family; immediate and extended.

The widow of the late Lindsay R. Kinnear; mother of the late, Lindsay J. Kinnear; mother-in-law of the late, Denise Kinnear. Madeline is survived by her daughters, Linda Flannagan and her husband, John of North Andover, Marsha Kinnear of Amesbury. Also among her survivors are her eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence Street, Andover. Burial will take place at a later date in Spring Grove Cemetery also in Andover. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
