Doria (Houle) Palermo, 92

Salem, N.H. — Doria (Houle) Palermo, 92, of Salem, N.H., died Monday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen. She was born and educated in South Lawrence, and attended St. Mary’s Grammar School. She later graduated from Woodbury High School in Salem, N.H. She was a resident of Salem for the past 70 years. Doria was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the St. Joseph Sodality. In 1973 Doria started the Rosary group at St. Joseph Church and held prayer groups out of her home for many years, and is still going today. Doria was predeceased by her husband, Carmelo Palermo and her son, Thomas Palermo. She is survived by her children, Marie and her husband, Clifford Carroll of Rome, N.Y., Antoinette Mondalto and Stewart Mondalto of Reading, Louis and his wife, Kathy Palermo of Windham, N.H., Carolyn Palermo of Salem, N.H., Roberta and her husband. Charles Hatch of Lewiston, Maine, Diane Palermo of Manchester, N.H., Loretta and her husband, George Packard of Lawrence, Elizabeth Palermo of Merrimack, N.H., wife of Thomas Palermo, Theresa and her husband, John Robinson of Nashua, N.H., and Robert and his wife, Joy Palermo of Haverhill; grandchildren, Diana Kaufman, Andrea Doughty, Sean Carroll, Jamie Mondalto, Mark Mondalto, Aileen Anderson, Stephen Palermo, Sherri-Ann LaVallee, Christopher Hatch, Richard Chojnacki, Melanie Sumpter, Christopher Chojnacki, Brittany Packard, April Packard, Mario Palermo, Garrick Palermo, Jacob Palermo, Andrew Gaudet, James Gaudet, Michael Gaudet, Danielle Chernick, Corey Robinson, Stephanie Palermo, Kelly Sayers, and David Sayers; 20 great-grandchildren and one special bundle on the way. At our last family party, mama requested that we all “stick together”!

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 19 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Salem, N.H. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lawrence. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 18 from 4-8 p.m. at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, N.H.

Jason enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his friends and cousins. He found great joy in spending time with his family at cookouts and family gatherings. Jason was most proud of his role as an uncle and adored his nephew, Cameron, and nieces, Emma and Ella.

    Atkinson, NH — Charliene P. Moore died May 16, 2013, in Pleasant Valley, N.H., after a long illness from cancer. She was born in Cambridge, Mass., on Aug. 16, 1945, daughter of the late Pearl and Charles Moore. She grew up in Everett, Mass., and graduated from Malden High. Charliene worked at the IRS for 20 years and for Securitas Services where her security assignments included stints at Sweetheart Plastics, Hewlitt Packard and Global Insights. She fought a long, hard battle with cancer and through it all loved her co-workers and friends. Charliene is survived by her longtime companion, Linda McAdams of Atkinson, N.H., and “Mac,” her furry little friend. Special thanks for the love and support given by the Nursing Staff from the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home and the Compassionate Hospice Care, where memorial donations may be sent in lieu of flowers to 25 Nashua Road #3, Londonderry, NH 03053.
