Mary E. Bartow, 91

Haverhill — Ninety-one years young, Mary E. Woiceshook Bartow, née Rheaume, earned her angel wings on Monday, January 21, 2013, passing peacefully in her sleep. The loving and beloved mother of Diana Corey (m. Alan), of Byfield, Anna Crane (m. Peter) and Paul H. Woiceshook, Jr. (m. Cindy Sharkey), both of Haverhill, and grandmother to David and Jessica Woiceshook, Michael and Matthew Crane, and Bianca Namura Corey, ‘Grammy B’ was also dearly loved by her great grandson, Kayden.

Mary survived three husbands, the first of which fathered her three children. Paul H. Woiceshook, Sr. served as a Haverhill firefighter until his untimely death in 1968. They met after serving in World War II. She was stationed in Harlingen, Texas in the Women’s Army Corps. Paul served in the US Navy. Mary loved to sing and to dance, and she often entertained the troops over the base radio station, singing the big band hits of the 40’s, one of her favorites being “All of Me”.

Mary and Paul were respective members of Haverhill's Order of the Eastern Star and Masonic Temple. Working as a home maker, nurse’s aide, dedicated mother and grandmother, Mary also found time for travel and golf, and she loved the many wild birds that flocked to the feeders outside her home in Haverhill, as well as in Barefoot Bay, Florida, where she resided for twenty-five years. She loved watching TV and dramatic films. The Red Sox had an avid fan in Mary. She cheered on "My Varitek" and "My Big Papi". But her favorite games to attend were those played by Mike, Paul, and Dave in the Haverhill Softball league. She subsequently married Joe Rigazio, of Haverhill, and Martin Bartow of Long Island, NY. Keri Cruz, a family friend, spent many hours caring for Grammy B in the past few months, and Mary's family is very grateful to her and to Mary’s daughter-in-law, Cindy for their untiring care and concern.

ARRANGEMENTS: At her request, the family will hold a private celebration of her life. The family suggests that those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mary Woiceshook Bartow’s memory consider Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill & Bradford. Condolences to her family may be made at
