Andover — Carol H. (Goldthwait) Bickford, 84, of Andover and formerly of North Reading, died Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Wingate of Andover. She was the beloved wife of the late Hazen E. Bickford.
Born in Melrose on July 7,1928, she was the daughter of the late Fred W. and Ruth Lucy (Leveridge) Goldthwait. Carol attended the Oak Grove School in Maine and Boston University.
She was a former resident of North Reading for 50 years. She was a strong supporter of the Union Congregational Church and was involved in the North Reading Historical Society. Carol was a census taker and worked at the voter polls in town. She spent the last eight years at Marland Place, an assisted living home in Andover, where she was an Ambassador and actively involved in cards, bingo and helping others. Carol was a top salesperson for the Fuller Brush Company for many years. Carol’s real love was spending summers at the Pine Needles on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Family members include her loving sons, Scott W. Bickford and his wife, Helen of Bedford and Kenneth W. Bickford and his wife, Lauren of Moultonborough, N.H.; daughter, Nancy L. Carrier and her husband, Roger of Pembroke, N.H.; sisters, Ruth Maynard of Newark, Del. and Lucy Anderson of Asheville, N.C., the late, Nancy Ray Craigie and Marjorie Richardson. Also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
