Josephine M. Cyr

Methuen, MA — Josephine M. (Buggea) Cyr, 89, of Methuen, passed on to be with our Lord on May 17, 2013.

She was the devoted wife of Wilfred R. Cyr for 57 years and the loving mother of daughter, Angela O'Brien, wife of Paul O'Brien of Weymouth, and son, Kenneth, and his wife, Margaret of Georgia. Her grandchildren, Kaleigh and Sean, were her pride and joy. She was predeceased by her parents, Giacomo and Angelina, and her brother, Joseph. Josephine is also survived by her loving and devoted sister-in-law, Grace Buggea, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Josephine was born, raised and educated in Lawrence, Mass., by her hardworking parents who immigrated from Italy. Upon graduating from high school, she went on to work as a seamstress in the Lawrence mills. She continued to work in a variety of part-time jobs as she raised her family.

Josephine was a very active person who enjoyed and excelled using her hands to create a vast array of beautiful clothing, accessories and other items. She and her husband loved to dance and were quite the square dancers in their day. She will be sorely missed and her spirit will live on with those she loved.
