South Lawrence — Jacqueline S. (Devaux) Leone, 85, died Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas A. Leone.
Survivors also include her daughter, Danielle Noble and her significant other, Paul Capone, of Hudson, NH; her beloved grandson, David M. Noble of Derry, NH and her Cockatiel named Honey.
Brothers-in-law, Joseph A. Leone, Jr. of Haverhill, Gerald J. Leone of Methuen; sister-in-law, Mary Lyons Johns of Newburyport and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brother-in-law, John R. Leone and sister-in-law, Carmella Mararian.
Jacqueline was predeceased by her parents, Marcal and Alphonsine (Fleury) Devaux and 7 sisters, all of France.
In her 20's she was employed as a nursing assistant at Versailles Hospital in France. She then met her future husband, Thomas A. Leone, who was a member of the Allied Military Police working aside the French Gendarmerne and the British Royal Military Police at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers of Europe in Paris, France. It was love at first sight. Despite the language barrier, they found a way to communicate. They married at the Notre Dame, Versailles March 11, 1958 and came back to Methuen, MA to start their life together.
She had a passion for cooking and scratch tickets.
Her greatest love was her grandson, David.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday morning at 11 o'clock in Saint Lucy's Church in Methuen.
Friends will be warmly received on Sunday from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen.
