La Jara, CO — Anthony Nobile Roscigno, 85, passed away suddenly in La Jara, Colo., on June 29, 2013.
Born on February 19, 1928, in Lawrence, Mass., Tony was the son of the late Aniello and Rose Roscigno. He is survived by his sister, Mary Petralia of Merrimack, N.H; brother, Vito and wife, Viola Roscigno, of Lawrence; 9 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
Tony was a graduate of Holy Rosary School, Lawrence High School and Notre Dame University. Tony was a teaching brother at the Order of the Holy Cross in California and New Mexico for 20 years. He later worked as a social worker at Tewksbury State Hospital for 15 years.
Tony was an avid mountain climber and a longtime member of Appalachian Club. His nieces, nephews and cousins fondly recall their adventurous mountain hikes.
Tony resided in Arizona and Colorado for the past 20 years, surrounded by his beloved, beautiful Rocky Mountains.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Church/Corpus Christi Parish in Lawrence. The burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, immediately following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, at Tony’s request, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Holy Rosary Church.
