Salem, NH — Joan B. (McGregor) Cavanaugh, 84, of Salem, N.H., died Saturday at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, N.H. She was born in Lawrence, Mass., where she grew up and attended schools. She was a resident of Salem for 50 years. Joan owned and operated Kelly’s Kindergarten in Salem for over 25 years. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem and a member of the Red Hat Society. She played 45s weekly for over 40 years with her girlfriends, alternating houses. She was an avid reader, loved the beach, but most of all she loved being with children, especially her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Cavanaugh, and her siblings, John McGregor and Rae Sirois. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon and her husband, Ron Savage of Salem; her son, Mark and his wife, Kimberley Cavanaugh of Londonderry, N.H.; sisters, Gertrude and her husband, William Walsh of Salem, and Janet McGregor of Methuen, Mass.; grandchildren, Jessica, Erin, Leah, Heather, Brennan, Brian, and Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Tyler; and several nieces and nephews
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 31, at 10:30 a.m., at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Salem. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem. Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem.
