Angela Michelle Lukens, 33

North Andover — Angela Michelle Lukens was called to heaven on February 19, 2013 at the age of 33. Her passing was unexpected and has left a great void among her family, friends and co-workers.

Angela was born in York, PA, but moved with her family to Massachusetts when she was just a baby. She lived most of her extraordinary life in North Andover, where she attended Franklin Elementary, North Andover Middle School and High School. Angela loved being surrounded by people so it is no surprise that she became active in the North Andover School theater programs where she loved both acting and student directing. Her love of participating in the theater ended when she graduated high school but she continued attending professional theater performances with her family as often as possible.

Angela graduated with honors from North Andover High, and continued her education at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Virginia where she again surrounded herself with a wonderful group of friends who are still very much a part of her life. Angela would make annual visits to Williamsburg for her special “girls time” with family and to visit with her William and Mary friends, especially those who had not been able to visit her during the year.

With a BBA in finance, she returned home to North Andover and soon found a career in the finance department at Lahey Clinic. With her new career at Lahey, Angela had an opportunity to make many new friends and colleagues and to become a part of an organization which she grew to love so much.

Angela lived with her family for nearly 30 years in order to meet her goal of buying her own home before the age of 30. As might be expected, she reached her goal in June 2009, just shy of her 30th birthday. Angela was so proud of reaching that goal. Her home became her new “home base” but she still was a big presence in her parent’s home. When she walked in the door, she always brought smiles, laughter and a joy for life.

Angela loved any excuse to celebrate life. She would announce each celebration as "the best time ever". Birthdays were treated as at least two day events, which presented a chance to spend even more time with those she loved. She was always happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. She was truly a person who will be remembered as a bright light in the lives of everyone who had a chance to meet her. We all grieve that her time with us was much too short, but we will hold her in our hearts forever.

Angela is survived by her loving parents, Philip and Brenda Lukens of North Andover. She also leaves her brothers Rick Brown, Brad Lukens and John Lukens as well as her sister Debra Hoffman, grandparents, Upton (Tom) Norris and Lucille Norris of Princess Anne, Maryland, Uncles Upton “Tom” Norris III, William Norris, Steve Norris and Aunt Sheila Drain as well as their spouses, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also mourning our beloved Angela is her sweetheart Bob Carella and her longtime friend Michael Melillo.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to Angela’s Celebration of Life on Wednesday February 27 at 11:00 a.m. followed by visitation until 2:00 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home 28 Florence St. Andover, MA. 01810. Burial will be private at a later date.
