Haverhill — Antonia García-López, 88 years old, mother of 12 children, died on Saturday, February 16, 2013 in Haverhill, Massachusetts following an extended illness. She was the wife of Enrique Ginorio-Arroyo of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Antonia was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on March 22, 1924, daughter of Antonio Garcia-Matías and María López-Ríos. She lived in Puerto Rico for 60 years until her move to Lawrence, MA. for her last 26 years. Due to her Dementia-Alzheimer’s she moved to Haverhill. She grew up and worked at an early age as a farmer on a coffee plantation. As a loving mother her worries were that all children have a better education, though, she never had an education and did not to read or write. Her favorite pastime was as a homemaker and excellent gardener
She is survived by five children J. Enrique Ginorio-García, Blanca I. Ginorio-García, William Durán-García, Antonio Durán-García, Feliciano Durán-García and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren all whom she deeply loved. Antonia said:
“A new journey was assigned to me. A difficult one because I am no longer able to see my loved ones from my mortal body, but, at the same time I am able to help them from my spiritual life. My wisdom and bravery will be with them in memories
ARRANGEMENTS: Her body will be returned to the Earth in the form of silken remains on Saturday, March 2nd, 2013 in Cidra, Puerto Rico.
