Richard McCann, 61


Methuen — Mr. Richard McCann, 61, of Methuen, died Sunday at Lawrence General Hospital. Born in Methuen, Mr. McCann had been an area resident all his life.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. Mr. McCann worked as a teacher at Somerville High School for 32 years. He attended Alpha Fitness Taekwondo for 21 years and held his second dan belt. Mr. McCann enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Son of the late Francis and Tryphena (Funderburk) McCann and brother of the late Hurley F. McCann, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Theresa (Therrien) McCann of Methuen; one daughter, Shannon, and her husband David Goulet of Lawrence; two sons, Alexander McCann and his wife Staci of Manchester, N.H., and Benjamin McCann of Methuen; one brother, Ronald F. McCann of Manchester, N.H. He had five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 35 Merrimack Street, North Andover. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edgar J. Racicot Inc.
