Exeter, NH — Jeanne Retelle Fleming, 84, wife of John M. Fleming of Exeter and Rye, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
She was born in Lawrence, Mass., on March 4, 1929, and was the daughter of Edward and Angelique (Gallant) Retelle.
Jeanne was a graduate of St. Patrick School, and attended Merrimac College and Salem Normal.
Primarily a homemaker, she was also a talented artist and gifted seamstress. She was a member of St. Theresa Church in Rye Beach.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, John, survivors include her children, Anne Brosnan and husband, Gerard, of Falls Church, Va., Mary McCarthy and husband, Daniel, of Northville, Mich., Robert Fleming and wife, Lisa, of Loveland, Ohio; and grandchildren, Elise Claire Brosnan, Stephen Brosnan, Christopher McCarthy, Daniel McCarthy Jr., Brian Fleming, and Michael Fleming.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Theresa Church, 875 Central Rd., Rye Beach, N.H., on Tuesday, July 16, at 11 a.m. Friends invited. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth, N.H., is assisting with arrangements.
