North Andover, MA — Josephine (DiPrima) DiFruscio, 95, of North Andover passed away peacefully at her daughter’s summer home in Maine after a short illness on Saturday, July 20, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, the late Louis DiFruscio of North Andover. Mrs. DiFruscio was born in Methuen on January 28, 1918, and was raised and educated in the Pleasant Valley area of Methuen. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore DiPrima and Angela (Sardo) DiPrima. She was one of seven children and this close-knit family shared many years of love, laughter and life. She was a very loving wife and mother. She enjoyed her family, playing cards, traveling with her husband, and wintering in Florida for many years where they made many friends from around the country, adding to the many friends she had locally.
Later in her life, she became an active member of the North Andover Senior Center and was known for her work in the Threads of Love Program. She was an avid knitter and loved making knitted items for all of her family members especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicky (DiFruscio) Hunt of Haverhill; and daughter-in-law, Eileen DiFruscio of North Andover; and she was predeceased by her son, R. Louis DiFruscio Sr. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sheila Skane, Sherry Marconi, Brad Perocchi, Deborah DiFruscio, R. Louis DiFruscio Jr, Alana Robinson, and Gregory DiFruscio; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and a sister-in-law.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, North Andover. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845.
