Phyllis Qualls, 98

Haverhill — Phyllis (Lee) Qualls, 98, of Haverhill, died Tuesday morning, July 23, 2013, at Wingate at Haverhill, surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Haverhill on April 19, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Frances (Cole) Lee. She was educated in the Haverhill School System. For several years, she was employed as cook and dietician at Benson Hospital, Haverhill.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Qualls; her son, Duane Qualls; her grandson, Aaron Davis; brother, Joseph H. Lee Jr.; and sisters, Harriet Spellman and Marion Chandler.

Her survivors include three daughters, Frances Davis, Tina Qualls, Venita Chaney Qualls of Haverhill; three grandchildren, Jasmine and Jessica Robinson, Jason Warren; four great-grandchildren, Lawrence Greene, Wisdom Coates, Jaliel Louis, Xavier Gracia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Phyllis and Frank, in their 50’s, adopted three babies. She was interested in everyone she met, and everyone loved her.
