Salem, NH — Mary B. (Thompson) Lambert, born in Lawrence on October 16, 1922, died at home, on December 1, 2013. The daughter of the late Albert Thompson and his wife Mary Murphy, she was raised and educated in the Methuen School System. At the age of 81 she moved to Salem, N.H., to live with her daughter, Patricia.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, George W. Lambert, a man she said was the love of her life. The man with whom she raised 16 children. Mary was also predeceased by her first born, George M Lambert of Lawrence, husband of Sandra; son, John of Methuen, husband of Norma, and James Lambert, who died in his childhood. Mary’s other children are son, Joseph of Methuen, daughters, Mary Weber of Methuen, Patricia Parent and husband, Rudolph, of Salem, and Ann Lambert of Lawrence, son, Thomas and wife, Linda, of Haverhill, daughter, Eileen Ricci of Allenstown, N.H., son, James P. and wife Alana of Haverhill, Peter of Methuen, daughter, Elizabeth Tine and husband Thomas of Salem, son, David of Methuen, daughter, Cynthia and husband, Kevin Linehan of Salem, son, Michael and wife, Diane, of Salem. daughter, Jacquelyn and husband, Charles Berube of Methuen.
Mary was predeceased by her brother, Frances, husband to Marcel. Her other five siblings are brother, Richard Thompson of Albany, N.H., sister, Helen Shadlick of Lawrence, sister, Claire Perient of Westford, Mass., sister, Ruth Conlon and husband, Gene, of Salem, and brother, Joseph Thompson and wife, Dottie, of Derry, N.H.; and she also leaves her sister-in-law, Jean LaChance of Bow, N.H.
Mary was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Council Parish at St. Theresa Church, Methuen, and a member of the Third Order of Mary. She also loved reading, ice skating, cross word puzzling, and ballroom dancing.
Mary’s greatest joy in life, with the help of God, was in raising her 16 children. She also leaves 33 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 4, from 4 to 8 p.m., at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 5, in Our Lady of Good Council Parish at St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, Mass., at noon.
