M. Anita (Losier) Edgerly, 84


Amesbury — M. Anita (Losier) Edgerly, 84, of Amesbury, formerly of Haverhill, died on Thursday, November 28, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Amesbury, she was the daughter of the late Cedric and Emilienne (Albert) Losier. She attended Amesbury Public Schools, and was a graduate of Amesbury High School, Class of 1947.

Mrs. Edgerly was primarily employed as a cook and waitress most of her career. She worked at various local restaurants throughout Haverhill, including the Arlington Diner and Spartacus Restaurant.

After raising her family in Haverhill, in 1986, Mrs. Edgerly moved back to Amesbury, and although retired, she did not stop working. She volunteered at the Amesbury Senior Citizens Center and for four years was awarded the “Amesbury Woman of The Year" for her dedication and hard work in her community.

The widow of Clinton F. Edgerly, who died in 1983, she leaves her beloved son, Kenneth G. Hume and his wife, Kellen N., of Methuen; four cherished granddaughters, Lindsay M. Medeiros and her husband, Corey, of Woburn, Lauren A. Phillips and her husband, Michael Jr., of Methuen, and Hayley Hume, and Tanner V. Hume, both of Methuen; a great-grandchild, Alexis M. Phillips; a sister, Constance M.J. Hughes of Newton, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Norman, Cedric, Carl, Leopold, and Joseph.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Route 125, Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home, with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Salem Street, Bradford. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Amesbury Senior Citizens Center.
