Georgetown — Katherine L. (Moffitt) Spaulding, 86, of Georgetown, died on November 27, 2013, at the Beverly Hospital. Katherine was born in Haverhill, Mass., on December 14, 1926, to the late George Napoleon Moffitt and Mabel A. (Smith) Moffitt. She was a member of the Portland St. Baptist Church of Haverhill for over 60 years. She graduated from Perley High School, and lived in Georgetown all of her life. Katherine retired in 1994 from Western Electric. For many years, Katherine participated in the 109th Evacuation Hospital Reunions. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, board games, and completing puzzles. Katherine's family was her greatest joy. She was married for 50 years to the late Roy C. Spaulding Jr.
Her survivors include three daughters, Jo-Anne M. Healy and her husband, Robert, of Naples, N.Y., Donna M. Spaulding of Georgetown, and Nancy J. Spaulding of Georgetown. She is survived by her extended family, Irene Prescott, Barbara Walsh and her husband, Richard, Marilyn Nyberg, and Wayne Moffitt and his wife, Norma. Katherine was predeceased by her brother, George; and sister, Ruth Moffitt.
Katherine's grandchildren are Nicole and her husband, Kris Owens, Erik Mixon, Matthew Healy and his wife, Terri, Sean McCann, Kevin Healy, Seth Bourque, and Danielle Mixon and her husband, Chris Weinburg. She also has seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, December 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Merton E. Roberts, Jr. and Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. A funeral service will be celebrated at the Portland St. Baptist Church, on Saturday, December 7, at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Portland St. Baptist Church, Haverhill, MA.
