Eleanor L Pennisi, 72

Lawrence — Our precious mother, Eleanor L. Pennisi (Toohey), 72, of Lawrence, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013, at the Beth Israel–Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, following an unexpected illness. She was born in Lawrence, and was the daughter of the late Guy and Antoinette (Consentino) Pennisi.

Eleanor was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Merrimack College and Leslie college. She worked as a legal secretary for Agilent Technology in Andover. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Augustine Chapel in Lawrence.

Eleanor was a talented artist and loved to write poetry, play the piano, and enjoyed the outdoors. She enjoyed ice skating, rollerblading, hiking and skiing. Most of all, she loved sharing her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her sons, William J. Toohey II of Newmarket, N.H., Brian C. Toohey and his wife, Lisa, of Salisbury, Kevin J. Toohey and his wife, Deborah, of Windham, N.H., and Shaun P. Toohey and his wife, Tatum, of Haverhill; her daughter, Maureen Toohey–Curley and her husband, Michael, of Lawrence; her brother, Maurice A. Pennisi and his wife, Constance, of Windham; her sister, Mary Grace Stein and her husband, Bradford, of New York; her grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Courtney, Crystal, Tyler, Brandon, Jordan, Keaghan, Delainey, Jack, Erin, William Jr., Brian, Cameron, and Austin; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Frank Ferreira and Denise Campbell. She was predeceased by her sister, Carmelina Shaheen.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 4, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Thursday, December 5, at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Augustine’s Chapel, 124 Ames Street, Lawrence. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
