Lawerence — Catherine J. (Lanagan) Laskey, 89, of Lawrence and formerly of North Reading, died on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Lawrence General Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronan J. Laskey Sr.
Born in Boston on May 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Ryan) Lanagan.
Catherine was a member of St. Theresa’s Church in North Reading, and worked there as a housekeeper from 1975 to 1995.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was known for her genuine kindness, for being charitable, and her strong faith in religion. She was a warm and beautiful person, who made a positive and warm impression on all.
Family members include her loving sons, Ronan J. Laskey, Jr. of Reading, Lawrence Laskey of Westfield, Ind., Robert J. Laskey of Lawrence, and the late Andrew Laskey; sister of Henry Lanagan, Jr. of Bryantville, Mass., and Mary Lanagan of East Boston; seven grandchildren, Brian, Andrew Jr., Jason, Joseph, Katherine, Victoria, and Patrick Laskey; and nephew, Henry Lanagan III.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street, North Reading, MA 01864.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading, on Friday, December 6, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street, Route 62, North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, from 3 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.
