Salem, NH — Avilda M. Paradzick, 94, of Salem, N.H., died on December 1, 2013, in the Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem. Mrs. Paradzick was born in Agawam, Mass., on December 22, 1918, and was a daughter of the late, George E. and Alvina (Lemire) Goyette. She married Charles E. Paradzick on August 31, 1942, in Enfield, Conn., and they lived in Agawam for many years. She later moved to Derry, N.H., where she lived for 30 years.
As a former communicant of St. Theresa’s Parish in Agawam, she sang with the church choir. She enjoyed knitting, quilt making, watching football, and reading.
She is survived by her son, Charles E. Paradzick Jr. and his wife, Janice, of Derry; two grandsons, James W. Paradzick of Derry, and Charles E. Paradzick III of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five great-grandchildren, Nina, Natalie, Lilliana, Ethan, and Mia; four siblings, Raymond Goyette, Thelma Troie, and Verda Goyette, all of Agawam, and Diane Montagna of West Springfield, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Paradzick Sr. in 2007.
ARRANGEMENTS: Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 12, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 12, at 1 p.m., in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial will be at a later date in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
