Barbara L. Deacy, 71


Haverhill — Barbara L. (Paine) Deacy, 71, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Hannah Duston Nursing Home in Haverhill, Mass.

Born in Medford, Mass., she was the daughter of Frank and Maxine (White) Paine, and was a graduate of Amesbury High School. Barbara worked as an assistant controller for Process Engineering before her retirement. She enjoyed Irish music, gardening, Yoga, playing the piano and was the matriarch of her family.

The widow of Vincent Deacy who passed away in 2005, she is survived by her children; Philip E. Dirago of Framingham, Mass., Valori Queally and her husband, John, of Merrimac, MAass., and Keith H. Dirago and his, wife, Katherin, of Maine. She also leaves four step-daughters, Sharon Christesen and her husband, Lewis, of Salem, N.H., Maureen Piazza and her husband, Charles, of Atkinson, N.H., Susan Camire and her husband, Jerry, of Plaistow, N.H., and Deborah Perrault and her husband, Joseph, of Goffstown, N.H.; four brothers and one sister, Parker, Brian, Scott, Jeff Paine, and Starr Hume; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was predeceased by her step-daughter, Ann Brunette, and a step-son, John Deacy.

ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472, or to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Association, 89 South Street, Boston, MA 02111. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Kenneth H.
