Lawrence — Harry F. Richards Jr., 88, Lawrence, died peacefully on Thursday, July 3, at Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Harry was born in Lawrence and was a lifelong resident. Harry was a Navy veteran of World War II. Early in his career, he was the owner and operator of Theatrical Film Services. He also owned and operated the Central Cafe in Andover, before going on to drive a bus for Tromblay Motor Coach Co.
Harry’s longtime friend and companion, Marilyn Dowd predeceased him in 2003. Harry leaves Marilyn’s daughter, Patricia Foster of Tewksbury, and three of Marilyn’s grandchildren, Erin Foster, Michael Dowd and Danny Dowd. In addition, he leaves his lifetime friend, Richard Manning and his wife, Dot, of Methuen; close friends and neighbors, Toni and Mark Mallet and Carol and Jake Zahn, all of Lawrence; and a cousin, Shirley Dow of Ipswich. Also his beloved dog, “Amber."
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, July 10, at 11 a.m., in the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover. Interment with military honors will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
