North Andover — Anna L. (Mackie) Zaccari, 90, a life long resident of North Andover, died March 19, 2013 at the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. Anna was born January 2, 1923 on Sutton Street and raised in North Andover the daughter of the late, Frank and Annie (Bolton) Mackie.
At the age of three months old her family moved to Maple Avenue where she lived until she was 85 years old. Anna later moved to Bingham Way and then to her daughter's home in Norwood. Anna was a nurse at the Bon Secours Hospital later known as Holy Family Hospital in Methuen and was one of the first nurses to work in the C.C.U.. She also volunteered at St. Michael Parish and at the voting booths on election day.
Anna was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Annie (Bolton) Mackie; her husband, John Zaccari; sister, Helen DeSimone; and brother, William Mackie. She is survived by her daughte,r Ann Bamber and husband, John and their children, Rebecca, Daniel and Rachel all of Norwood; step-son, John Zaccari and his wife, Rosemary; step-daughter, Diane and her husband, Stephen Patterson all of North Andover. She is also survived by six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 at St. Michael Parish. Family and friends may also call on Saturday, March 23 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the mass at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover.
