Salem, N.H. — John Russell Jr., passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Salem Haven Nursing Home after a period of failing health. John was predeceased by his wife Helen.
John was born in New York, N.Y. on August 29, 1925, the son of John and Alice Russell. He was raised and educated in New York City. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. A longtime resident of the area, he lived in Paris, France, for a number of years prior to his retirement. He worked for many years at Raytheon before retiring to Derry.
John is survived by his son, Gary and his wife, Karla of Atkinson; son, Robert of Salem; grandchildren Jacqueline and Phil of Atkinson, Victoria and John of Derry, Kassia, Alexa, and Isabella of Salem; and great-grandchildren, Cora Marie and Gary John.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Goundrey and Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, N.H. Services and burial will follow at 12 p.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem.
