Estelle M. Pappafilis, 90

Haverhill, MA — Estelle M. (Vincent) Pappafilis, 90, of Haverhill, died Thursday, May 9, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.

She was born in Haverhill, October 3, 1922, daughter of the late Walter and Marion (Morrow) Vincent.

Educated in the Haverhill school system, Mrs. Pappafilis graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1940.

Estelle was employed as a layout operator at the former Western Electric for 27 years and retired in 1978. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Haverhill.

Mrs. Pappafilis was the wife of the late Anastatios “Tom” Pappafilis; mother of the late Sandra LaFrance who passed away in 1996; and sister to the late Dorothy Vincent who passed away in 2002. Her survivors include a sister, Barbara Vandergriff of California; three nephews, George and his wife, Mary Ann Hoomis, of Ipswich, Wayne and Jana Vandergiff, and Vincent and Aloma Vandergriff, all of California; and a niece, Katherine Hoomis of Walpole. Estelle also leaves behind several grandnieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday afternoon, May 14, at 12:15 p.m. from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. A visitation period will precede the funeral service on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
