Andover, MA — Rose Freije, 86, a 50-year town resident, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at home with her husband and son at her bedside. Rose was born and educated in Lawrence, the daughter of the late Deeb and Helen (Maloof) Hadad, and a 1944 graduate of Lawrence High School. Rose worked as a bookeeper at the former Lawrence Sunday Sun. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. George Orthodox Church in Lawrence. Rose was an active woman who played daily morning tennis and afternoon bridge with her friends. She enjoyed square dancing and performed with Andover's "Rocketeers" and North Andover's "Turkey Town Totters."
Rose is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Clifford C. Freije of Andover; one son, Gregory D. Freije of Andover; daughters, Cynthia, wife of Alfred Anheier, and Leslie, wife of Raymond Robles, both of Reno, Nev. She is also survived by three grandchildren and two nephews. Rose was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Hadad, and a sister, Rita Fionte.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at United Lebanese Charitable Society Cemetery in Andover. Friends may call Tuesday, May 14, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Farrah Funeral Home, 133 Lawrence St., Lawrence, MA 01841.
