Salem, NH — George Wilfred Croteau, Jr. passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by his beautiful wife of 65 years, Rosalie (Miele) and his four children, George of Salem, NH, Gary and his wife Kathleen of Kent, WA, Brenda Harold and her husband Matthew of Sandown, NH and Joy Tozier and her husband Kenneth of Methuen and his sister, Loretta Musemecci of Oregon. There are two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Lawrence on June 2, 1927 to parents, George, Sr. and Bertha (Croteau) Croteau. He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Local 111 Union.
George was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger days. Fishing on his boat was one of his loves as well as hunting with his sons George and Gary at his beloved hunting camp in Deerfield. He also spent adventurous times with his youngest son Gary in the Aleutian Islands, Banff and Washington. Holidays and special occasions were spent at his daughter Brenda’s home where a good time was always had by all. He had a woodworking shop in his basement where he crafted many beautiful pieces for his family as well as for charity. He and Rosalie loved to travel and often times found themselves in Las Vegas.
He is predeceased by his brother Richard and sister Lorraine Miele Franek.
