Preston on September 25, 1949, and from this union had four children. She worked several years at Rutters’ Laundry, Alice’s Candy Store and retired after 30 years at Malden Mills. She was a long time member of Third Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Married Women’s Club. In her younger years, she was a marble champion. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, card games, making puzzles and doing the daily cryptogram and jumble puzzles in the paper.
