Peter J. Arasi, 87, of Methuen died unexpectedly Saturday, November 23, at Holy Family Hospital. Peter was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late Carmelo and Agatina Arasi, and the widow of Theresa (Iannalfo) Arasi who passed away in August of this year. He was raised and educated in Lawrence, and was a resident of Methuen for the past 50 years. He was a self-employed Painting Contractor. Peter served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Peter was a fighter and survivor who battled and overcame severe and numerous health conditions in his later years. His strength and determination kept him independent and forward moving through even the toughest of times. His love and service to his country was unwavering. He enjoyed his work, gardening, hunting and times spent with his loving grandsons.
Peter is survived by his daughters, Debra-Ann Vallario and her husband, Michael of Methuen, and Donna Gudinas and her husband, Danny of Hampstead, N.H.; his grandchildren, Brandon Vallario of Methuen and Rory Gudinas of Hampstead, N.H.; his brother, Basil Arasi and his sister, Grace DiTondo, both of Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews and in-laws.
Services and Burial will be private at the request of the family.
