LAWRENCE — Martin Fred Cocozza, 97, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at Lawrence General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Christina (Conti) Cocozza, whom he was married to for 72 years.
Martin attended Lawrence Schools. He enjoyed Sunday dinners and holidays with his family. He also loved summers at Salisbury Beach, and loved to attend "Sunday School" at the Tripoli club. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Martin is survived by his four children, Mary Ann Hogan and husband John of Freedom, N.H., Angela Bellanti of Lawrence, Marco Cocozza and wife Carole of Naples, Fla., Michael Cocozza of Haverhill. He is also survived by his brother, Agostino Cocozza of Methuen; three sisters, Laura Berard of Lawrence, Mary Rudis of Lawrence, Rita Ardagna of Methuen; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Cocozza; and many nieces and nephews. Martin was predeceased by his daughter, Fran Fisher; son, Anthony Cocozza; his four siblings, Pasquale, Antonio, Louis and Margaret (White) Cocozza; and his daughter-in-law, Diane Cocozza.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lawrence General Hospital for their care and compassion for Martin at such a difficult time.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A funeral service will be held at the Cataudella Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
