Serafina “Sera” L. Antonelli, 96, a longtime resident of Methuen, died peacefully at the Colonial Heights Nursing Home in Lawrence on Friday, March 1, 2013.
Sera, daughter of the late, Angelo and Albina (Marconi) Antonelli, was born in Lawrence on April 28, 1916. She graduated from Searles High School in Methuen. She was a seamstress at Samuel Roberts in Haverhill prior to her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen and a former member of the St. Rita Sodality of Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence. She enjoyed sewing and painting.
Sera is survived by one brother, Charles Antonelli of North Carolina; two nephews, Anthony DeFruscio and Frank Antonelli; two nieces, Elizabeth Rapp and Eleanor Bucuzzo; seven great nieces; three great nephews and several great great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Sera’s life by gathering for a visiting hour in the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Thursday, March 7, from 9-10 a.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Lucy’s Church, Methuen at 11 a.m. followed by burial in St. Mary - Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
