Gretchen E. Lamere


Lawrence — On November 23, 2013, Gretchen E. Lamere passed peacefully surrounded by her faith and family at Merrimack Valley Hospice Home. Gretchen was the widow of Raymond L. Lamere of Lawrence who died in 1988. She was the daughter of Raymond E Getchell (lastly of Maine) and Helena F. (lastly of Lawrence). She was raised by her grandparents James William Cooper and Ellen (Garrison) Cooper of Lawrence .

Mrs. Lamere was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School and lifetime member of St. Patrick's Church. During her faithful commitment to St. Patrick's Church, she was a member of the solidarity and choir. As a soloist, she sang at weddings, funerals and Midnight Christmas Mass. During this celebration of birth, Gretchen's vocal ability moved many to tears and awe as they looked to the soloist who match the grandeur of the organ.

Gretchen was also a long-term employee of Watts Regulator who maintained many friendships to this date, including the former CEO.

She is survived by her caregiver and son, Richard E. Smith of Lawrence; daughters, Ellen Davidson and husband, Keith of North Andover, and Gretchen Coco and husband, Ken, also of North Andover. Grandchildren include Kerry Mader and husband, Jeffrey, Tammy Huapaya, widow of the late Danny, Laurie Tierney and husband, Christopher, Jamie Archung and husband, Keith and Amy Davidson and fiance, Jed Paroli. In addition, Gretchen was also blessed with five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lamere was preceeded by members of the Agnew and Cooper families and lifelong friend Mariam Ashworth.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass was in St. Patrick Church, Lawrence. Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, North Andover. Arrangements were by The Charles F.
