Fremont, N.H. — Dominic Miskinis age 95 of Fremont, N.H., died Sunday at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home, Derry, N.H. He was born in Grodno, Poland. He grew up in Poland and Lithuania. He lived in France and was in the French Army during World War II. He came to the United States in 1948 and became a US citizen in 1954. He was a resident of Fremont for the past eight years, formerly of Hampstead, N.H. and Lawrence.
Dominic worked as a laborer for Oxford Paper, Champion International and Lawrence Packaging. He was a former member of the Polish National Church in Lawrence.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Koza) Miskinis. He is survived by his stepson, John Karcz and his wife Linda of Fremont, NH; grandchildren, Laurie Karcz of Ashland, Kevin Karcz of Nottingham, N.H., Donna Karcz of Epping, N.H.; great-grandchild, Tyler Barry of Epping, sister-in-law, Edna Homa of Andover; brother-in-law, Frank Koza of Morrison, Colo.; nieces, Laurie Proulx and her husband Stephen of Derry, N.H., Diane Krafton and her husband Rick of Andover, Marlene Hawkins and her husband Rod of Ormond Beach, Fla., Susan Scavone and her husband Al of Morrison, Colo.; nephew, Douglas Koza and his wife Janine of Conifer, Colo.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24 from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, N.H. Burial will follow in the Polish National Cemetery, Methuen.
