Bradford — Maureen (Regan) Anderson, 67, of Bradford passed away Monday, October 22, 2012, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Lawrence on Dec. 5, 1944, daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Murphy) Regan.
Maureen attended Lawrence public schools and received her BS in Education at the University of Lowell (formerly Lowell State College). She later received her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Suffolk University.
She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for the children of Lawrence for 38 years. She retired from teaching in 2004, but continued to work with children in the after school programs of Lawrence and surrounding communities. Since her retirement, Maureen enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, always punctuated by laughter. She loved gardening, the beach, and walking with her dog, Ollie. Maureen will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness and generosity, her Irish humor, her optimism and her ability to always see the best in people.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer and her husband Brian Kelly of Groveland and Marcy and her husband Kurt Gutierrez of Alexandria, Va.; brother, Peter Regan of Hobe Sound, Fla.; sister, Ann Dziadose of Peabody, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was a devoted Grammy to her three grandchildren, Regan, Lauren and Claire Kelly.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green St. Newburyport. Visitation will be Friday, October 26 from 4-7 p.m. at the Twomey-LeBlanc and Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
