Albert J. Maciariello, 64


 

Salem, N.H. — Albert J. Maciariello, 84, of Salem, N.H., passed away on Wednesday October 24, 2012 with his family at his side at Community Hospice, Merrimack, N.H. Al was born in Lawrence and moved to Methuen as a young boy and was educated in the Methuen school system. He enlisted in The US Army and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. His outfit was stationed at West Point, N.Y. for six months training of the future officers for field combat. He served a year in Keflavik, Iceland as a supply sergeant and received an honorable discharge after his three year enlistment.

After the army, Al completed a four year electricians apprenticeship in Local 522. I.B.E.W. in Lawrence which was later merged into Local 103, I.B.E.W. in Boston. He retired from Local 103 in 1991 and, including his years as a retiree, was a union member for over 55 years. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends.

Al lived in Methuen most of his life and moved to Salem, N.H. in 2004.

His family members include his wife of 35 years, Diane (Kepner) Maciariello of Salem, N.H. and his sons, Bruce Maciariello of Salem, N.H., Edward and his wife, Cheryl Maciariello of Auburn, N.H., Mark Maciariello of Lowell, and Daniel and his wife, Amanda Maciariello of Salem, N.H. He leaves his daughter, Debra Tinney of Haverhill, and brother, Edward Maciariello of Sterling, Alaska and his sister-in-law, Betty of Anchorage, Alaska. Al also leaves his grandson, Michael Tinney and granddaughter, Sophia Maciarello and many nieces and nephews.

Al’s retirement years were blessed with the birth of his granddaughter, Sophia. Sophia brought years of pleasure and happiness to Al and he and his wife, Diane spent every moment they could going to parks, museums, coasting and fairs with Sophia.

ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Thursday, November 1 , 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, N.H. A funeral mass will be on Friday November 2 at 10 a.m. in St Josephs Church, Salem, N.H. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
