Lawrence — Emile J. Gaudette, 93, of Lawrence, died Sunday at his home. Born in Maine, son of the late Peter and Jennie (Doiron) Gaudette he lived in Lawrence most of his life. He was a graduate of Ste. Joseph School in Lawrence.
Mr. Gaudette served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1936 to 1937. He then joined the United States Army and served in the European, African, Middle Eastern Theater during World War II. Mr. Gaudette attained the rank of staff sergeant and received the Purple Heart. He worked for the Frank C. Meyers Co., the Methuen School Department and Parlex in Methuen. Mr. Gaudette was also a reserve police officer in Lawrence. Mr. Gaudette was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is predeceased by two sons, Robert P. Gaudette, William J. Gaudette and one daughter, Mary Louise Gaudette. Mr. Gaudette is survived by his wife Helen R. Gaudette; five daughters, Mary Ann Gaudette of San Antonio,TX, Arlene and her husband Alfred Torrisi of Methuen, Linda and her husband Leon (Willy) Valcourt of Methuen, Helen and her husband Michael Crimmins of Methuen, and Lisa and her husband Alexe Saidel of Manchester, NH , one son, James Gaudette and his wife Paula of Sandown, NH; one sister, Sr. Arline Gaudette SCIM of Biddeford, ME. There are 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. in leiu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Mr. Gaudette to the American Red Cross, 139 Main Street, Cambridge, MA 02142 or to the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home at 35 Merrimack St., North Andover.
