Andover — Patricia Anne Snedeker (née Honeker), died peacefully on September 8, 2012 in Pasadena, Calif. after a seven-month battle with renal cancer. She was 82.
Born in 1930 in Orange, N.J., Pat was the only child of William Honeker, owner of Fisher Cadillac, and Frances Wright Honeker. She grew up in East Orange, N.J., attended East Orange High School, and was a proud and active alumna of Wellesley College, Class of 1952, where she majored in Spanish.
In 1952, during the same week as her college graduation, she married Robert A. Snedeker. Initially the newlyweds lived in Sacramento, Calif., where Bob was stationed with the Air Force during the Korean War. During their 60 years of marriage they also lived in Princeton, N.J., Lincroft, N.J., Rumson, N.J., Wilbraham, Andover, and North Reading. Pat and Bob moved to Pasadena in the last months of her life to be near their children.
Pat’s most rewarding pursuits included traveling with her husband around the world, volunteering in her children’s schools and later for the Andover Historical Society, her book and travel clubs, and her many cherished friendships. Pat was an avid sports fan, and supported the Patriots, the Bruins, and the Red Sox (despite her errant childhood rooting for the Yankees); she was in the stands at Yankee Stadium for Lou Gehrig Day in 1939. She also greatly enjoyed musical theater, in particular “The Boy From Oz” which she and Bob saw at least 7 times.
Pat is survived by her loving husband Robert, 84, and her children Brian, 52, and Lee Anne, 48. Her eldest son William predeceased her in 2011. She also leaves grandchildren, Garrett, 25, and Tatiana, 12.
