Lawrence — Anthony R. Carelli, 91, of Lawrence passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013, at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence. He was born in Lawrence, and was the son of the late Rocco and Pasqualina (DiZazzo) Carelli.
Mr. Carelli was raised and educated in Lawrence and attended Lawrence schools. He was a WWII Navy veteran, and worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Lawrence. He was known as “Mr. Fixit,” and enjoyed tinkering with anything and would always figure out how to fix anything. Mr. Carelli was a member of the Andover K of C, Italian American Civic Association and the Rocky Club.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mary Immaculate Nursing Home and Merrimack Valley Hospice for the love and care shown to Mr. Carelli.
Mr. Carelli is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Angelina (Belmo) Carelli; his sons, Robert P. Carelli and his wife, Patricia, of Jensen Beach, Fla., and James A. Carelli of Lawrence; his grandchildren, Scott Carelli of California, and Melissa Carelli of Nashua, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carelli was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m, on Thursday, September 19, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex Street, Lawrence. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
