Bluffton, SC — Michael J. McKinney, 50, of Bluffton, S.C., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Michael was a native of Lawrence, Mass., and lived in the Merrimack Valley for most of his life. He lived in South Carolina for an extended period of time.
Michael graduated from the Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1980, where he studied auto body. He loved to work on cars his whole life and still was doing auto body work in South Carolina on the day he passed.
Michael was a Boy Scout and proudly served in the National Guard. He held many jobs through the years, including restaurant manager at Bickford’s in Portsmouth, N.H. He loved his family and made friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his parents, Paul and Cecile McKinney of Plaistow, N.H.; his daughter, Cassandra Bedard of Pelham, N.H.; his sister, Dianne Coyne, of Methuen, Mass.; his sister, Linda Flanders and her husband, Alan, of Bluffton; his sister, Kim Bruzzese and her husband, Tony, of Atkinson, N.H.; his sister, Jeanne McKinney of Plaistow; his brother, Paul E. McKinney III of California; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Arrangements are under the direction of Saul’s Funeral Home in Bluffton.
