Atkinson, NH — Joseph A. Roldan, 82, of Atkinson, died on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry.
Born in New York City, son of the late Joseph and Herminia (Parilla) Roldan, he attended Manhattan College. He served in the United States Army for four years in the National Army Security Agency before moving to Illinois and then Atkinson in 1966.
Mr. Roldan worked for Western Electric as an engineer for twenty-seven years before retiring from AT&T Technologies. He loved tennis, golf, bowling, and dancing and enjoyed going on cruises and wintering in Florida. He was an active member of Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Elba (Quinones) Roldan; his three sons, James J. Roldan of East Hampstead; Robert A. Roldan of Somerville, MA, and Thomas J. Roldan of San Antonio, TX; his daughter, Jeanne M. Young of Manchester, NH; his sister, Nancy Carrington of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and two nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward Roldan.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, November 9, 2013, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH.
