Joseph Goodwin, 75


Browns Mills, NJ — Joseph Goodwin of Browns Mills, N.J., passed away suddenly on November 7, 2013, while visiting family in North Andover. He was born in Boston and educated in Boston schools graduating from Boston Latin High School. Joe served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army based in Europe. Upon his return, Joe relocated to Florida, where he became an avid Miami Dolphins fan, and enjoyed spending time boating, water skiing and golfing. He was very active in the Big Brothers organization. Joe established a career in the uniform sales and services industry, and became service manager for Servisco Uniforms, where he met his wife, Marie. He later branched off on his own, and with the partnership of his wife, became founder and owner of All American Uniform, providing high quality service to New Jersey utility companies and municipalities. Joe had a passion for politics, and as a devoted Republican, was active in his community. As a two-term committee person for Browns Mills, Joe focused his energy on developing the local economy, expanding small business in the region, and improving youth programs.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Marie (Sangermano) Goodwin. Also among his survivors are his mother-in-law, Cecelia Sangermano of North Andover; sister-in-law, Diane Carney and her husband, John, of North Andover; sister-in-law, Deb Kelleher and her husband, Steve, of Kensington, N.H.; brother-in-law, John Sangermano and his wife, Bridget, of Middletown, N.J.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a great-nephew. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy (Goodwin) Talbot of Lansdowne, Pa. Joe was predeceased by three other sisters, Frances, Muriel and Phyllis; and his father-in-law, John Sangermano.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, November 16, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, followed by his funeral Mass at Saint Michael’s Church in North Andover, at 11:30 a.m.
